Name? Susana Garcia (@susanabananaa)
What’s your job? Fashion designer, stylist and creator content on Instagram.
What did you study at university? Before entering the university, I studied a higher technician in Styling and protocol, upon finishing, I studied the career of Fashion Design, and currently I am still training in skating and dressmaking.
When did you start your job? Very recently, I finished college in 2019 and started creating my clothing brand in mid-2019, launching it in July 2020. As a stylist, I also have very little, I did work as an assistant and until very recently I started by myself. As a content creator, I started taking it a little more seriously two years ago. But I’ve always been moving around since I was 17, some helping, assisting, and other jobs that have nothing to do with fashion.

What is the night you spent the most money to have fun? What do you do for fun? 100€ is the most I have spent partying, and because it was my birthday and we took a reservation among several, but normally I do not understand people who spend so much money partying, it seems absurd to me. My favorite plan is an afternoon of cocktails with my friends, pajama’s party, always with wine. I love to seize the day and a plan that is always a good option is a breakfast with pancakes or waffles and do anything around the city and see some cool exhibition. I recently found a place where there are trampolines and I think it has become one of my favorite places.
What people don’t know about your job? It is a job that you NEVER disconnect, at least I am always thinking that I can do, how to improve and that generates exhaustion and frustration, it is very hard. From the outside it is very difficult to see, because it is seen as something easy, having no boss or schedules, they see it as an absurd job. What happens is that people who work in a place, offices, schedules, etc … finish their working day and forget until Monday. We freelancers, never. But we each choose our path, and this is very cool even if it is hard and has difficult moments.

Do you think that a person that doesn’t stand out in the art market is just because he is not worthy? No, many times it’s because the market sucks.
Do you think that only the art market define what can be considered art and what cannot? No, obviously not. And more when people are so snobbish. Many times a person is given a lot of importance for being a son / friend X of someone important, and makes shitty art. The truth is that I have always done everything that has been in my power, I have always studied what I have wanted and I have made decisions with my heart, so I do not regret not having done something, perhaps having given up very quickly. The answer to the previous question would be one of them, and since I faced a career in fashion design, in the last moments I was very unmotivated and I did not get along. Why is it so hard to have a lasting love today in your opinion? Do you think social networks are involved in it? Totally, when we have a problem or something does not work with our partner or with a person we are meeting, instead of talking about it, we stop seeing that person, because you know that with a single click you will have many more guys with whom you will surely you can function and you compare all the people and you think there will always be someone better than the last. We are not finished valuing people.
Your best and worst memories of your youth? How did you like to spend your time? In high school I had a pretty bad time, I was not comfortable with the people around me and I ran away a lot, I lived on the outskirts of Madrid, and I started going to the center of Madrid and I met my best friend and she along with another girl, they saved me enough.
